event services: lighting

Lighting requirements will vary dramtically from one event to another.

All events need a certain amount of lighting; so much of how we communicate is visual.

However, creative use of lighting can also have a dramatic impact on the feel and focus of an event.

Factors involved in lighting:

- Choosing Lighting Fixtures:

Whether you need spot lights, washes, or intelligent lighting fixtures will depend largely on the application and goals for the event.

- Determining Power Requirements:

Conventional power requires a lot of power, typically more than large sound or video systems. However, new LED technologies may also be considered, providing more efficient options.

- Dimming and Control:

It is important to determin how and who will controll the lighting system.

- Rigging:

Aestitics play a big role in determining how we mount lights. While it is often easiest to mount lights on crank lifts, often it necessary to hang truss, being conciencious of sight lines.

- Focus:

Once lights are mounted they must be focused to ensure even coverage of a stage and appropriate accent on any special features.

- Plotting and Programming:

Different scenes may be programmed for different moods, to create energy, or to direct the focus of partcipants.
